Eight teams of four drivers each including a Bay Area celebrity raced wheel-to-wheel in high performance European karts; win, loose or drawl, smiles abounded and at the end of the day we brought the fight of pediatric cancer a notch higher in the public eye. |
These Karts are very exciting to drive, delivering an adrenalin pumping adventure for the participants and fans alike. Adding to the excitement, the 49er players figure out how to turn the race into a full contact sport. Click here for a sample of the racing experience.
Enduro Format Racing:
Enduros consist of a PRACTICE session (to allow all drivers to get familiar w/ the equipment), then a singular enduro race. It?s up to each team to decide HOW much time each driver gets. Teams signal to their drivers to pit, then the driver changes take place, similar to a relay race. Oftentimes, races are won/lost in the pits? the teams that can do quicker exchanges gain lots of time.
Mike Hill, semi-pro race car driver helped all the competitors get comfortable with the task at hand.
