| Tracking the Cure - One lap at a time, was a first-of-its-kind event, allowing all in attendance and anyone with an interest to support the cause with the event 100% committed to charity.
At the end of the day, a whopping $25,000 was raised for the Susan G. Komen for the cure of breast cancer fund. AND, event organizers Lisa Ryland and Eric Diamond concluded the memorable day by being the first couple ever to be married at Thunderhill Raceway. When the schedule for the ceremony was announce by David Ray, HoD's Founder, he offered wishes to the very deserving couple with a big smile: "we hope that the fact that they're getting married in a place called the "Cyclone" won't be an issue for their marriage!!!! ;)".
Amongst other first time events, one hundred percent of the participants on track at a time were women, 25 of them, mostly first timers... gender boundaries are changing. The women traded 20-minute intervals on the track with male driving groups throughout the day.
Consistent with all HoD events in car coaching as well as classroom instruction was provided- guaranteeing better driver on public highways at the end of the day. HoD ran 4 total groups from beginner to advanced, all with fun, safety and skill progression in mind.
